I had to reinstall Alfresco from scratch on a Stand alone Windows 10 Machine. I have good backups (Hot, Cold, Full Installation, Even System Image just in case).
After Install I tried Copying files from backup into/over the files in the same location that they were in prior to the fresh reinstall.
This did not work for me. It appears that Alfresco is not pointing to the proper database. (I don't know if that is correct, or if I am explaining incorrectly) The question is two-fold:
1. How do I restore backup files to an existing installation and make that work properly. How do I restore backup files to a fresh install and make that work properly and successfully?
2. If in fact Alfresco is not using the correct database after doing the fresh install (even though everything was setup using default settings) How would I get Alfresco to use the restored files/database. In other words how do I point Alfresco to the correct Postgresql database and content?
Note: I ask question 2 specifically because if I can make that work successfully then I will be able to migrate the installation at will to a new machine etc. Without being able to make Alfresco use the proper data and content... I am naked and in the weeds.
